‘Science Skill Mascots’
Between now and the 17th of May, Mrs Taylor is running a competition to design a character to become one of our ‘Science Skill Mascots’. These mascots will need to represent our 5 key science skills:
- Research
- Observation over time
- Comparative + fair testing
- Identifying, grouping and sorting
- Pattern seeking.
These mascots will be put on our website and also used within lessons throughout the whole school!
When designing your mascot, think carefully about how it will promote that particular science skill – you may even want to give your mascot a name.
To enter, complete your design on an A4 piece of paper and hand in your entry to your class teacher by the 17th of May. The winners will have their designed mascot used throughout our school and also receive a certificate to recognise their achievement.
Thank you for your generosity of all the wonderful book donations. We are now at the point that we unable to take anymore.
At TSC we are extremely lucky to have our inflatable dartboard, Speed cage, mini pitch and our large pitch.
This May half-term we will be taking our inflatables on a tour of our districts.
These will be at our Soccer School on Tuesday 28th May!
To receive 25% off your booking, use discount code 'MAY25'
this code is valid until midnight on Friday 3rd May, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Friday 15th March Comic Relief – Red Nose Day
Comic Relief
Friday 15th March This year, as always, we will be celebrating Red Nose Day. We will be having a non-uniform day as normal, but this time with a twist! As it’s Comic Relief, we are adding an extra element for those that wish to take part – funny faces! Feel free to add to your non uniform a silly wig, some bright glasses or some wild hair accessories. Make us all smile! (Please no face paint though – we don’t want any favourite clothes getting ruined!) Alongside this we will be running an interhouse joke competition. All children in the school are invited to participate – just write your favourite joke on a piece of paper. Remember to also write down your name and which house you are in. The school councillors and Mrs Patel will be judging the jokes and housepoints will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Please send all entries to Mrs Patel in Blue class. Donations can be made via our justgiving page on the link below. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rnd24-minster-church-of-englandprimary-school-8c985b49-5cc2-49a7-b5f0- 092ed647e696?utm_source=copyLink&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=r nd24-minster-church-of-england-primary-school-8c985b49-5cc2-49a7-b5f0- 092ed647e696&utm_campaign=pfpshare&utm_term=fda5b5c157794a0ead083da9fb6e2d37
Easter
Children are invited to make a piece of Easter craft for our competition: EYFS and KS1 - an Easter bonnet KS2 – a traditional Easter Garden
All children – a decorated hard-boiled egg
Please make all competition entries at home and bring them into school the morning of Wednesday, 27th March. All designs should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class. Please ensure you do clearly label your child’s creation otherwise it makes it very difficult to make sure that we get prizes to the right children! Children who design an Easter bonnet should take their entries directly into the class room on Friday. All “egg” entries and Easter gardens should be taken directly to the school hall first thing in the morning. At 10am there will be an Easter parade with the children wearing their bonnets. Judging for the gardens and the eggs will take place at lunchtime. Children will then take their entries home at the end of the day as this is the last day of term. All children entering will receive 5 house points. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize awarded for each category, each of which will receive Easter egg prizes! We hope as many children as possible are able to take part.
On Thursday 21st March there will be no book club or dodgeball club after school due to the EYFS and KS1 disco. On Tuesday 26th March there will be no choir, board games club, Irish dance club or rugby club after school due to the KS2 disco. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Mid-year Attainment Report Today you will receive your child's mid-year attainment report. The column on the left shows your child's target for the end of the year in each academic subject. The column on the right shows the level at which your child is currently performing at this point in the school year. These reports can be discussed further with your class teacher at next week's parent consultations.
Parent Link
Just a gentle reminder about content and FB. This group has been created for school improvement. Content should be related to strategic improvements we can consider for the future. We will also use this group to gather your views (hence Parent Link) on future ideas to develop the school. This group was a direct replacement for the 'in-person' parent group we used to run in school many moons ago. Over time it seems to have developed into something similar to a massive WhatsApp group. This is not what the group is for and many questions are about things we have already communicated with you - please read what we send you. Questions should be directed to the office email or ask in person at pickup/collection- there are always lots of staff accessible. If you don't follow the rules, you will be reminded once and then removed from the group. Thanks for your support with this and hopefully we won't have our school improvement topics swallowed up by lots of other communications going forward.
